Antique brass watch fob promoting Toledo, Ohio, circa 1900s–1910s. The richly detailed front depicts the Toledo skyline with a steamship on the Maumee River, industrial smokestacks, and downtown buildings — all hallmarks of Toledo’s booming industrial era. The slogan “You’ll Do Better in Toledo” spans the center, with the city’s historic bee symbol — representing industry and commerce — in a medallion at the base.
The reverse is stamped by Bastian Brothers Co. of Rochester, New York, one of the most respected badge and specialty manufacturers in early 20th century America, with their M.P.B./P.I.U. union production mark.
A superb piece of Ohio promotional history and early American advertising ephemera.
