Exceptional antique advertising watch fob dating to circa 1907–1908. The front features a horseshoe frame surrounding a relief scene of a horse and gentleman with the phrase “She Was Bred in Old Kentucky” — a nod to the beloved Kentucky thoroughbred tradition and the popular song of the era.
The reverse carries advertising for a product used by the U.S. Marine Hospital Service — the federal agency that preceded the U.S. Public Health Service — listing highest award wins at six international expositions: Paris 1900, St. Louis 1904, Liege 1905, Portland 1905, Milan Italy 1906, and Jamestown 1907. The “12 years” claim places manufacture at approximately 1907–1908.
A remarkable piece of American medical, advertising, and equestrian history in one small object.
Condition: Good antique condition. Wear and patina consistent with age over 115 years. Details remain crisp and legible.
Measurements: Approximately 1.5 inches tall.
