This extraordinary vintage mending kit is a time capsule of that world: a matchbook-style cardboard folder whose cover bears a stunning Art Deco illustration of a stylish young woman in a white dress and vivid orange silk stockings, handbag swinging, striding with the confidence of someone who has never once let a run ruin her afternoon.
Open it and the contents are intact — silk mending threads in graduated stocking shades, needles still in place, and printed instructions for the “Run-Arrestor Wands” within. The back cover announces it is obtainable only from a Real Silk Representative, with the name “Robinson” written by hand in the space provided.
