Published by the World Book Company in 1916, priced at the Indiana contract rate of fifteen cents, and compiled by educators from Columbia University, DePauw University, and Miami County Indiana schools.
Amanda’s penciled signature and the date October 7, 1916 remain on the front endpaper — a child’s claim on her book, preserved for over a century.
