A small lot of five vintage photographs from China and Taiwan, dated 1951. Included is a detailed image of a farmer plowing a flooded rice paddy with a water buffalo, captioned on the reverse: “Plowing flooded rice paddie at Br. Apo-657, with water buffalo in China, from Harold [Guldner], in Army 1940.” Additional photographs show a waterfront building with Chinese signage and three harbor/coastal scenes with ships and cranes, two of which are labeled on the back “China 1951” and “Taiwan 51.” A nice small lot for collectors of vintage Asian travel photography, Korean War-era military ephemera, or mid-century China/Taiwan history.
Condition: photos show age-appropriate wear — toning, soft corners, and one photo with a small corner crease. Sold as-is, as pictured.
