A charming pair of hand-painted wooden folk art ornaments for the tree. The first is a cheerful red locomotive with a green smokestack, brass-tone bell, and green wheels trimmed in white, hand-painted with a star and leaf motif along the boiler. The second is a riverboat commemorating Cincinnati’s legendary Tall Stacks festival, the gathering of steam paddlewheelers that has drawn crowds to the Ohio riverfront since the late 1980s, hand-lettered “Cincy Tall Stacks 1988” across its stacked decks with twin smokestacks and colorful pennant flags. Together they make a sweet, nostalgic set with a nice touch of Ohio river history. Train measures almost 4 inches, boat measures 3 inches.
Condition: Vintage hand-painted wood, general wear consistent with age on both pieces including light paint rubbing at edges and wheels. Cords and pennant threads intact on both.
