Large vintage/antique decorative folding hand fan displayed in a 16” x 25” shadowbox frame. The fan features pierced and carved-look ivory-colored sticks with delicate openwork decoration and a printed fabric leaf depicting a classical pastoral scene with women and children in soft blue, pink, green and cream tones.
The fan appears to be an older piece and shows substantial age-related wear. The fabric has discoloration, staining, edge fraying and deterioration, and the sticks show wear consistent with age. One outer guard/stick appears damaged or incomplete near the pivot area, as pictured. Presented as found in its existing shadowbox frame.
A beautiful decorative survivor with a romantic Victorian/European revival appearance, ideal for antique fan collectors, period décor, or display.
