The front cover lists the publisher’s Cincinnati address as 421 Elm Street and its New York office as 40 Bible House. The rear advertising page identifies Fillmore Music as “Published since 1874” and advertises the company’s period music publications, hymnals, Sunday-school music, anthem books and The Musical Messenger.
An interesting surviving piece of American music-education and parlor-organ history from the era when the organ was an important instrument for home, church and community music making.
The book contains instructional material, exercises and printed music, including illustrated instruction on playing technique.
CONDITION: VERY POOR / AS-IS.
This is an antique book with extensive age and use wear. The binding has completely failed and the pages are loose/disbound inside the covers. Covers show substantial rubbing, staining, discoloration, edge and corner wear. Pages have age toning, edge wear, tears and other deterioration consistent with a heavily used antique instructional book. Old tape/repairs may also be present.
