Absolutely charming miniature vintage wooden mother-and-baby folk art figure. The larger mother measures approximately 2” tall and is hand painted in white and bright blue with yarn hair and a hanging cord. Her hollow bell-shaped body contains a small suspended gold-tone ball.
Accompanying her is an extraordinarily tiny approximately 1” wooden baby with a round pink painted head, tuft of fuzzy yellow hair, surprised little face and white-and-blue body. Even the underside has two tiny painted pink feet — an especially sweet handmade detail.
A wonderfully whimsical little vintage pair with a Scandinavian/European folk-art feel. No maker or country markings found.
Condition: Vintage condition with age-related surface wear, paint crazing, small paint losses/marks and wear to the yarn/fiber elements. The baby’s painted surface shows noticeable crazing. Please see photos.
