Vintage 16” x 20” wildlife scene on stretched canvas featuring a small herd of deer gathered in an autumn woodland landscape at sunset. The warm brown, gold, rust and muted blue tones give it a classic lodge, cabin and traditional sporting-art look.
The image appears to be a commercially produced canvas reproduction rather than an original painting. There is faint lettering or a signature-like mark within the lower-left area of the image, but it is not sufficiently legible for us to confidently attribute the artwork to a particular artist.
The wooden stretcher is repeatedly marked “Frederic/Frederick” with 16 and 20, corresponding to the canvas dimensions. These markings are being treated as stretcher/frame markings rather than an artist attribution.
Also included is the vintage storage/shipping carton associated with the piece. The box bears a Calendar Promotions, Inc., Washington, Iowa label and is factory marked H-16X20, matching the canvas dimensions. Because we cannot independently document that it was originally sold with this specific image, it is described as its period storage/shipping box rather than guaranteed original packaging.
Condition: Vintage used condition with age-related surface and storage wear. Canvas remains displayable. Box shows considerable vintage storage wear, discoloration, old adhesive residue and handling marks. Please review photographs carefully for condition.
