Unique vintage skipping rope made using wooden textile-mill bobbins/spools as handles, giving the piece a wonderful industrial and folk-art character.
The two handles are turned hardwood bobbins with aged metal/brass-tone ferrules at the ends, attached to a thick natural-fiber rope. The rope has been looped and wrapped at the top, creating a sculptural look that makes this equally appealing as vintage sporting equipment, textile-mill memorabilia, primitive decor or repurposed industrial art.
The wooden handles measure approximately 6½ to 7 inches long each. The piece shows the warm patina and wear expected from age and previous use.
Condition: Vintage used condition with surface wear, scratches, discoloration and patina to the wood and metal fittings. The rope shows age, fraying and wear, particularly at the ends. Please review photos carefully for overall condition.
