Absolutely wonderful dimensional Victorian-inspired shadow box featuring a miniature ivory dress surrounded by vintage-style fashion imagery, floral ephemera, ornate trim and layered textile details.
The dress is beautifully constructed with satin, lace, netting, tiny pearl-like embellishments and dimensional sleeves. Behind it are images of elegantly dressed Victorian/Edwardian women, including fabulous period hats, all arranged against patterned fabric and elaborate corded trim.
The open-front shadow box measures approximately 13” x 9” x 3.5” deep and has a gold-tone decorative frame. Patterned paper continues around the exterior sides, and hanging hardware is attached on the back.
No maker identified. This appears to be a decorative artisan/craft assemblage rather than an antique Victorian object itself. Displays beautifully and has enormous romantic, cottage, boudoir and maximalist appeal.
