Vintage Chinese Scholar Figurine 8” Polychrome Ceramic Stamped China Asian Decor
$28.00
A wonderfully colorful vintage Chinese figure stands in an elaborate yellow patterned robe above a sculptural cloud-like base. The elongated form, hand-painted details and eccentric palette give him far more personality than the usual small export figurine.
Measures approximately 8 inches tall. Ceramic construction with glazed and painted decoration in yellow, blue, turquoise, pink, red and black. Base is impressed CHINA along with an additional Chinese character mark.
Exact figure or deity has not been identified, so he is being described conservatively as a Chinese scholar/immortal-style decorative figure rather than assigning a specific identity. Vintage condition with age-related wear and irregularities consistent with manufacture and use; please review photographs closely.
