This vintage bread serving set has exactly the sort of details that make an ordinary household object worth finding again. The long woven basket has a striped fabric liner, chunky rope handles, and an attached fitted sheath holding its original-style serrated bread knife.
The knife is marked “Stainless Steel Japan” and has an unusual bamboo-form handle with carved and textured detailing. The dark woven basket is finished with rope handles and a black-and-cream striped liner, while the knife sheath is secured directly to the exterior of the basket.
A distinctive vintage serving piece for bread, rolls, or a retro table display, and especially appealing for a mid-century or Japanese-made kitchenware collection.
