Vintage 1992 Ashton Drake Stevie Doll Catch Me If You Can Mary Tretter Box COA

Little Stevie appears to have been caught exactly where the collection promised: in the act.

This vintage Ashton-Drake Galleries porcelain doll is “Catch Me If You Can!”, the first issue in the Caught in the Act collection designed by artist Mary Tretter. Stevie wears a bright blue outfit with a wonderfully goofy appliquéd giraffe across the front, and his accessories include the tiny detail that makes the whole piece: his own roll of toilet paper, ready for whatever domestic disaster he was apparently planning. 😂

The doll appears to have remained in its original packaging and has not been fully unpacked for photography. His head remains protected in its plastic covering, hands and feet are still wrapped, and the original accessories are present inside the presentation box.

The certificate identifies this as a handcrafted porcelain doll designed by Mary Tretter and states that production of the edition ended permanently on December 31, 1993.

Condition: Appears new old stock / never displayed and still substantially factory packed. Original outer shipping carton shows age, storage wear, creasing and marks. Inner packaging and paperwork show some light age/storage discoloration. Doll has intentionally not been completely removed or unwrapped so the original packing can remain intact. Please review photographs closely for packaging condition and included contents.

A wonderfully specific piece of early-1990s Ashton-Drake nostalgia, especially for a collector who appreciates dolls with a little personality rather than one more child sitting politely in a lace chair.
